Immortal Dinosaur – Hidden Google Chrome Dinosaur Game Hack

Most of us have seen the dreaded No Internet error message on Google Chrome. Google decided to help you turn your frustration into a fun time by turning the error message page into an endless runner game – and it’s hackable. Here’s how to play (with and without internet), and how to hack the game to make your cactus-jumping dinosaur immortal.

How to Play the Hidden Google Chrome Dinosaur Game

The good news is you don’t have to cut your internet connection to play the game. The bad news is if you don’t have an internet connection, it’s about all you can play. Either way, here’s how.

First, we need to get to the error message screen on Google Chrome. If you don’t have internet, just open Chrome and try to visit a website. Done. If you do have an internet connection, just type chrome://dino in the address bar and it will take you there.

Next, all you have to do is press the space bar and your dinosaur will take off running. Press the space bar again to jump. The object of the game is to jump over (and sometimes duck under) cacti and birds. Once your dinosaur hits something, it’s game over.

As you can see in the above gif, once you hit something, you get a Game Over message and you’re prompted to restart. What a brilliant way to kill time. I’d be interested to know the highest current score – without cheating, of course. Which brings us to our next topic.

Hack Google Chrome and Make your Dinosaur Immortal

The game can be hacked pretty easily, making your dinosaur not even flinch at the sight of a cactus.

To hack the game, first, go the error message page where your dinosaur is hanging out. Go ahead and press the space bar to start the game. Once the game starts, right-click and select “Inspect”  to open up Chrome DevTools, then select the “Console” tab. You can also do this by using the Ctrl+Shift+I shortcut, which takes you straight to the Console tab of DevTools.

  • Now, type the following command and press “Enter.”
var original = Runner.prototype.gameOver
  • On the next line, we’ll have to enter another code.
Runner.prototype.gameOver = function (){}

Press Enter.

Now, just exit out of Chrome DevTools and go back to playing the game.

As you can see, the dinosaur is unaffected by cacti. Now you can sit back and watch the points rack up share and more updates visit here.
